GanPian ‘without pain’ through the use of acupuncture and massage

Are you suffering with pain and unable to find a sustainable solution? Are you stressed and struggling to unwind? We all know relaxation is good for us but not many people know how to relax properly. Through relaxation and meditation we can unwind and let tension go so that we can access peace, which in turn helps with healing. This intense level of relaxation can be achieved through the use of acupuncture and meditation. Sharon O’Boyle of GanPian Acupuncture and Massage Clinic can help you eliminate pain from your life and also assist you in achieving higher levels of relaxation.

An acupuncture treatment involves a gentle massage, the insertion of needles at specific points on your body depending on what your problem is, and while the needles are working Ms O’Boyle does a form of meditation which helps you to relax and receive the full power of the treatment.

The first time you try to meditate and release your mind fully from the ‘monkey’ thoughts of everyday life, it is very difficult to achieve. It takes practice but with some easy exercises Ms O’Boyle can help you reach that place of inner peace which allows you to escape from the stresses and strains of the real world.

Tension in your body can be described as a closed fist. How do you release it? By watching TV, reading, playing video games, doing sport? The best way to relieve tension is to connect with the body, feel what’s going on and physically unwind it. Instead of being so caught up with thoughts it is important to spend time bringing balance back to our bodies.

Effective pain relief

GanPian is the Irish for without pain. Sharon O’Boyle specialises in pain relief through the use of acupuncture and massage. Symptoms of pain are often described as numbness, burning, throbbing, aching, or stabbing sensations. She has been qualified for three years and has spent the last two and a half years building her practice in her native Castlebar. She started her new career by learning qigong, a gentle exercise and meditation for relaxing the mind.

Through qigong, Ms O’Boyle got an introduction to Chinese medicine and medical systems and energy flow in the body. She had no previous knowledge of how this worked previously, but her curiosity was definitely aroused. She discovered that qigong and meditation help settle the mind and acupuncture uses points in the body to help balance the body. For the next three years Ms O’Boyle returned to education in Galway and during this time she travelled to Malaysia, Canada, and the UK as part of her training with Master Yap, an expert in qigong and meditation.

Acupuncture is a natural method of trying to bring the body back into balance with no side affects. Ms O’Boyle believes it should be used to complement Western medicine. Ms O’Boyle believes there are certain strengths in Western medicine that cannot be matched in acupuncture and vice versa. At GanPian Acupuncture and Massage Clinic the aim is to use advanced acupuncture techniques to reduce pain levels within seconds of inserting a needle at the correct location. In some cases painful conditions can be totally relieved after only one or two treatments. For more severe or long-term problems lasting pain relief is achieved only after a series of treatments.

Massage treatments

Ms O’Boyle’s massage only treatments, which don’t involve acupuncture, are also very effective for relieving neck pain, stiff shoulders, back and knee pain, and old injuries. They are also a great method of relaxing the whole body and unwinding tension and stress.
