If you are interested in taking part in Fit4Life, a local group which meets and trains together to improve fitness through walking and running go along to one of the weekly fitness sessions in Ballina, Claremorris, Breaffy, Swinford, or Westport.
The programme is suitable for beginners through to regular runners, people aged 18 and upwards, and the emphasis is on meeting with people of a similar ability on a regular basis to walk or run.
A qualified Fit4Life leader sets out a schedule suitable for the needs of the group. Exercise with others in a fun and sociable environment and gain advice on fitness topics and healthy lifestyle tips
The meetings take place every Thursday from 7pm to 8pm at Ballina Athletic Track, Beleek; Claremorris Athletic Track every Thursday from 8pm to 9pm (7.30pm from October 5 ); Breaffy GAA grounds every Monday at 7.30pm; Swinford Amenity Park every Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm and every Sunday from 12 noon to 1pm; Swinford Community Centre every Friday from 7pm to 8pm; and Westport Athletic Track every Tuesday from 7.30pm. Joining the Fit4life programme costs approx €25 annually.
Lucozade Sport workshops
The Mayo Sports Partnership has announced, as part of its commitment to promoting sports participation and healthy living, a series of Lucozade Sport educational workshops which will take place at the Breaffy GAA Club House in October and November 2009 on October 12, November 9, and November 23 at 7.30pm. Cost €10 per workshop or all three for €25.
