Fianna Fáil TD Beverley Flynn claims that Ireland badly needs a Yes vote on October 2 due to the fact that “Ireland today is facing unprecedented economic challenges and we need a Europe which can work effectively to help us and all countries work for recovery.”
Dep Flynn says that even in the middle of the biggest world recession in 70 years two out of every three Irish jobs depend on exporting to the other members of the EU. “Europe might sound distant from the everyday concerns of people throughout Mayo, but the reality is we need Europe reformed with the Lisbon Treaty to help us rebuild the economy and tackle big international problems like the crime gangs who inflict so much misery on communities here and throughout Europe,” she added.
