Director of services with Mayo County Council Joe Loftus said that a review of signage policy would be looked into following a notice of motion before the council’s monthly meeting by Councillor Damien Ryan as regards promotional signage.
The Fianna Fáil councillor said that there should be a more lenient signage policy in the county to “protect and sustain indigenous localised employment” and asked that the criteria and policy on signage be relaxed.
The director of services said that a report of current signage policy has been circulated to councillors and said that a signage policy review would be put to the planning and economic SPC.
