Castlebar newsreader to launch his book

A moving and courageous book by a Castlebar man who is one off Ireland’s best known TV personalities, will be launched in Castlebar Library on Friday September 18 at 8pm.

Michael Murphy, who is known as one of Ireland's most-loved voices, having previously read the news for RTÉ for nearly 30 years, has written a book called At Five in the Afternoon, detailing his experience with prostate cancer. The book is a remarkable account of his life growing up, his time in RTE, and his heart-aching battle with cancer.

The book will be launched by Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny in the library, and a number of RTÉ personalities including Bryan Dobson and Eileen Dunne will also speak at the launch. All are welcome for what promises to be a unique and moving evening.
