Man stole camera from pharmacy

An unemployed Latvian man who told Belmullet District Court on Wednesday that he stole a camera from a Bangor pharmacy “for money”, was convicted and fined €200.

Garda Thomas Organ received a report on August 27 this year that a silver Sony camera had been stolen from the shop. A staff member identified the man as Ainars Vlasevics, 10 Gort na Gloch, New Street, Ballinrobe. He was later detected at 4pm in Lavelle’s Pharmacy where he admitted taking the camera and showed the garda where the camera was hidden in his car.

The man, who has no previous convictions, was convicted and fined by Judge Mary Devins.
