Islandeady Foróige Club's enrolment night takes place on Friday Septemebr 12 in the local community centre. Youths from the age of 12 to 18 are welcome to join.
This year the leaders have promised a fun-filled list of activities to help keep the youth of Islandeady busy and motivated for the rest of the year.
Last year’s Foróige group completed a fantastic range of activities and received a top award from the National Foróige organisation in recognition of the club’s outstanding achievements. Come along to the registration from 8pm to 8.30pm.
Over €100,00 raised for autism
The seven days in a row Croagh Patrick challenge which was held in March this year to raise funds for Mayo Autism Action and Irish Autism Action has raised a total of €116,158, exceeding the target of €100, 000.
Twenty-nine climbers completed the seven days in a row challenge while 200 others climbed on different days. Next year the challenge will be taken up another gear, attracting people worldwide to take up the challenge
