Last weekend the staff and friends of Petworld, Turlough took part in a big charity day for Crumlin Children's Hospital. They kicked off the day with a sponsored treadmill run, the task was to keep Petworld team members on the move for a continuous six hours. During the day they raised money by face painting, taking photos of customers with the pets in the store, including the eight-foot python, and several members of the team, including John and Mairead Horkan, sat down to a lovely meal of live giant meal worms and crickets!
Other fun activities included a hamster ball race and a guinea pig race and there were draws and raffles for some wonderful prizes including six months’ supply of Beta Dog Food supplied by Winning Ways.
“The team really enjoyed the day and would like to thank all the helpers who gave up their time and the businesses who helped sponsored the event, especially the help we got from the Garden Centre Team,” said Therese McGrath, the store manager. “This was a very enjoyable way to raise money for a very worthy cause.”
