Heritage Week runs from August 22 to 30 with some 1,000 events nationally.
In Mulranny, Heritage Week will be celebrated with two events. On Friday August 28 at 8pm in Mulranny Amenity Centre, a talk will be given on the spread of the invasive species wild rhubarb in west Mayo and means of controlling it. On Saturday August 29, a guided walk will commence at Costcutter car park, Mulranny, starting at 10.30am finishing at 2.30pm, taking in spectacular views of Clew Bay, its drowned drumlins and sand dunes.
