A Ballina woman who was involved in a car accident and did not have insurance was given a one year driving ban and fined €500 in Ballina District Court this week.
Garda Caroline Taffe told the court that she called to Eunice Kelly, 27 Riverside, Grange, Quay Road, Ballina, on May 19 2009 at 10.23am in relation to a road traffic accident which had happened the previous day. Kelly admitted that she had been involved in the incident and agreed to produce her insurance certificate in a Garda station of her choice within 10 days which she failed to do.
Judge David Anderson convicted and fined Kelly €500 for having no insurance and banned her from driving for one year.
