A summer lecture in the Achill Archaeological Field School located in Dooagh, Achill Island, will take place on August 11.
Holger Schweitzer, MA, from the Deptartment of the Environment, Heritage, and Local Government underwater archaeology unit, will discuss ‘The Drogheda Boat - Excavation, Recording and Analysis of a 16th century wreck’.
A two week course on excavation and field techniques from August 3 to 14 will also take place. Cost €650 including accommodation.
A three day taster in archaeology, through a combination of lectures, field trips, and excavation participation will take place from August 31 to September 2. Cost €350 including accommodation.
