Exhibition in Westport
Custom House Studios, at the Quay, Westport are currently hosting an extensive exhibition of paintings and printmaking by Patrick Pye marking the 80th birthday of the artist.
The exhibition, entitled Patrick Pye at Eighty, continues every day until August. Patrick Pye has two important stained glass windows in St Mary's Church in Westport.

The studios will also host a series of printmaking workshops over the summer season — printmaking for children will take place from August 10 to 13 (€60 ) and there is also a weekend workshop on August 15 and 16 for relief printmaking (€130 ). Call the studio to reserve a place.
Féile Lúnasa
The community festival celebrating the heritage, culture, and sporting tradition of Cill Chomáin will be held in various venues throughout the parish between July 26 and August 16.
The event is organised by Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Chill Chomáin, Comhar Dún Chaocháin Teo, and Coiste Ghlór na nGael Ceathrú Thaidhg, with all proceeds in aid of Club na mBan and Club na bhFear. Garden fête
The annual garden fête at St Colman's Care Centre, Keel, Achill takes place on Sunday July 26 commencing at 2pm.
This year's fête has all the usual attractions with wheel of fortune, bric-a-brac, books, pottery, arts and crafts, etc. There are lots of activities such as: games, pony rides, bouncy castle, face painting and novelties. MWR will broadcast live from the fête and there will be live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon. A Super Bingo in the marquee in St Colman's will also take place on Monday July 27th at 8.30pm.
St Colman's provides a comprehensive range of health care and social programmes for older and disabled people throughout Achill Island.
Irish camp in Claremorris
Tógra Mhaigh Eo is organising an Irish language summer camp in Claremorris from August 3 to August7

Race night in Claremorris
A race night will take place in the Western Hotel today (Friday ) at 9.30pm in aid of the 2009 Claremorris Agricultural Show.
Feile on the Mall
Feile on the Mall in association with the World Fleadh is taking place on the Mall, Castlebar, on August 1 from 1pm to 6pm.

East Mayo artists exhibition
East Mayo Artists will officially open their exhibition located at The Olde Railway Hotel in Westport on Saturday August 1 from 3pm to 6pm.
All are invited to come and join the group for some light refreshments, music, and to share and support the exhibition.
