Mayo SPCA is appealing this week for homes for Tiger, little Henry and Lassie, just a small sample of animals in its care.
Tiger is an outdoor male cat, rescued from unsuitable circumstances and Mayo SPCA is trying to bring another 20 cats from the same place into care. Currently staff are unable to do this until they can make space. Tiger is described as semi-feral and not aggressive in any way, just afraid of human contact. He's healthy, has been neutered, flea/worm treated, and he would do a grand job of keeping a property rodent free in return for a dry place to sleep and good food. He has plenty of siblings if anyone can offer an outside situation to Tiger and/or any of his mates. He's a really beautiful looking cat and no doubt would become much friendlier given a little time.
Henry is a beautiful male, six week old kitten, a very special little fellow. He was found alone in a barn — by a dog — he most certainly would have died as his eyelids were stuck together. A veterinary examination revealed that it was severe conjunctivitis, and you can see what a miracle six days of treatment led to. He's a happy, very friendly, little fella, litter trained and now playful. Mayo SPCA would like a special home for him as he's a bit of a miracle kitty and so gorgeous looking. He would initially need to be kept indoors and he is very clean.
Lassie is a spaniel/collie cross, five months old and a real character. She's healthy, has had her first vaccination and been flea/worm treated. Very much a pup, she would obviously need basic training but has a lovely even temperament, is good with other dogs, and very gentle. Lassie has eight siblings that also need homes, three females and five males who Mayo SPCA will bring into care when space becomes available.
If you can offer a home to any of the animals shown here or others in care then call Mayo SPCA on 094 963 1888 mobile 086 803 2592.
