Concerns about speeding cars in Charlestown have been eased following the announcement that speed ramps will be installed on the road at the back of the Square by Mayo County Council.
The move has been welcomed by Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony who said: “I’ve had a lot of representation from people in Charlestown about this issue and people were genuinely concerned about some cars speeding on the road. I’m delighted that Mayo County Council has responded to my representation and they have confirmed to me that work will start on the project by the end of this month.”
