Castlebar Chamber of Commerce presents Fawlty Towers… the dining experience at the Royal Theatre Cas

The Castlebar Chamber of Commerce Present Fawlty Towers… The Dining Experience in association with the Royal Theatre Castlebar on Thursday July 16.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to dine at Fawlty Towers? Well now you can find out. Enter the snobbish world of manic Basil, his domineering wife Sybil, and challenged waiter Manuel. Be one of the steady stream of bemused guest trying to make Manuel understand what it is you want. Asking for an ice bucket ends up with your being presented with a “nice bucket”. A simple procedure like opening a bottle of wine can become a huge drama.

And maybe, just maybe, in the middle of all these events you might get some service Fawlty style of course. Everything that can go wrong will……. In fact this can best be described as organised chaos bundled into two hours of “fat wobbling, gut – busting, face-aching laughter” while at the same time enjoying a fabulous light meal.

Acclaimed both nationally and internationally, selling out the Melbourne International Comedy festival in 2007 and 2008, Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2008, and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008, this interactive comedy dining experience is a must see for fans of all ages – just don’t mention the war!

This will be followed by a race night where all bets are on!!! local celebrity chef Oliver Kelleher will be there on the night to dish up Kellehers Flambe Boxty. A fun filled night of entertainment, laughs, prizes, and more can be expected. There will be a champagne reception on arrival at 8pm and shortly afterwards everyone will take their seats. This night is the perfect fun night out with friends, work colleagues, and family.

This is the first such night where the Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Theatre will join forces in creating awareness of a new initiative which hopes to increase tourism to the town under the guideline umbrella of Destination Castlebar. This initiative hopes to increase awareness of Castlebar as a tourism and shopping destination and so build up the town for a sustainable future. Castlebar has a lot to offer in terms of sporting occasions, leisure, culture, shopping, and of course entertainment. The aim of the committee in Destination Castlebar will be to drive this initiative and bring together the people of Castlebar to create a town full of excitement and interest for the tourist. Details on the Destination Castlebar plans will be announced shortly as it is still in its early stages but Castlebar needs its people to support such events and we look forward to a great night of fun in the Royal Theatre Castlebar!!!!
