In recent years the committee of Campaí Samhraidh Iorrais has organised summer camps throughout the Erris area with the assistance of funding received from The Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The aim of the camps, which are targeted at children in the six to 12 year age group, is to encourage them to speak Irish in an enjoyable environment.
This year, pending sufficient demand, the committee intends to organise camps at Ceathrú Thaidhg (July 6 to 10 ) for children from Ceathrú Thaidhg and Ros Dumhach; Inbhear (July 20 to July 24 ) for children from Inbhear and Barr na Trá; Gleann an Chaisil (July 20 to July 24 ) and Eachléim (August 4 to August 8 ).
