Barnatra National School has been successful in its appeal to be included in the Department of Education and Science Summer Works Scheme 2009.
The news has been welcomed by Minister of State Dara Calleary who said: “I am pleased to announce that our appeal to Minister Batt O’Keeffe has not fallen on deaf ears and that mechanical works and window replacement will now take place at Barnatra National School.
“I wish to pay tribute to the principal Geraldine Collins and the board of management of the school who presented a strong case for inclusion in the scheme. I am delighted that I could have been of assistance in securing Barnatra’s inclusion in the scheme and that essential repair work will now proceed,” said Minister Calleary.
