Gospel choir, poetry and exhibitions at the Linenhall

The hugely popular Castlebar Gospel Choir presents its great new show Songs of Freedom at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday June 17 at 8pm.

The show will embody the spirit of freedom that has evolved in the USA from slavery, through the Civil Rights movement, to the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Prepare to be uplifted. Contact 094 902 3733 to book.

Poetry performance

Kim Rosen presents Saved by a Poem, an evening of poetry, music and inspiration at the Linenhall on Thursday June 18 at 8pm.

Kim Rosen is a poet, performance artist and teacher of self inquiry who explores poetry's power to awaken, inspire and heal.

Aileen Lambert

Come and Gone is an exhibition of video, sound and performance by artist Aileen Lambert currently on show at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar.

Aileen’s practice is concerned with the relationship which the body has with its environment. Come and Gone runs until Saturday June 27.

Pimp your wellies!

We’re giving a big shout out to all music festival-goers to pimp your wellies in a one-off workshop at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Saturday July 4 from 12pm to 1.30pm.

Rain or shine, wellies are the footwear of choice at music festivals. A must for all festival trend-setters, here’s a chance to funk up your wellies and set your style! Come along to the Linenhall and get into a festival groove. Cost per head is €10. Booking is essential. Contact 094 902 3733 to book your place.

Art camp

There are just a few more places on the Linenhall Arts Centre’s annual ARTCAMP2009 programme, which takes place under the guidance of experienced community artists and teachers.
