Looking for some magic or mystery this summer? Pop into Castlebar Library and pick up a form for the Summer Reading Challenge which will take place throughout the months of July and August and to make things even more interesting books on the reading list must have a magic or mystery theme.
Children will be asked to read ten books by ten different authors, and fill in a brief questionnaire about each book as they read them. The challenge will be open to children aged from six upwards, and children aged six to seven can draw a picture instead if they wish. Every child who participates will receive a special certificate and an invitation to a celebratory evening in the Library. If you want to create some summer fun for your children, improve their confidence and reading ability, encourage reluctant readers, try new authors, and spend some time together, the Summer Reading Challenge is a must.
