The fourth Achill Half Marathon will take place on Saturday July 4. This year, proceeds from the race will be donated to Irish charities and Achill community-based organisations.
The 2009 marathon has been capped at 2,000 entrants, and it is expected to reach that figure within the next couple of weeks. A new feature of the race will be the use of electronic tagging for entrants, whose results will be posted almost immediately after the event.

All volunteers will be entered into a draw for a wide variety of valuable prizes and receive a lunch voucher redeemable at the Marathon village on the day of the race.
