American woman died in N5 collision

The woman who was fatally injured in a road traffic collision on the N5 at Bohola on Friday night has been named as Annette Scott, aged 51, from Thayne, Wyoming, USA.

An inquest was opened into her death in Ballyhaunis this week by Coronor John O’Dwyer but closed again so the deceased’s’ remains could be repatriated home. The inquest will be reopened in December.

Ms Scott died when her car collided with another vehicle. She was accompanied by a work colleague at the time who sustained injuries in the collision. Gardaí say a third vehicle was also involved in the incident. Two other people were injured but their injuries were not described as life threatening. The road was closed for a period while a Garda forensic collision investigation took place.
