Mayo TD Alan Dillon has welcomed confirmation that Mayo Abbey National School, Claremorris has proceeded to tender for a school extension.
Deputy Dillon said: "I am delighted that this extension for Mayo Abbey National School has proceed to tender. The project will consist of a new extension to the existing school building, to include a mainstream classroom, including wc for assisted users, and associated upgrades to the existing school buildings.
"I look forward to a tender been chosen and works commencing in the coming months. I wish principal Miriam Quinn, the board of management, teachers and students every continued success for the future."
