This June enjoy some free workshops in the Museum of Country Life, Turlough.
On Wednesday June 10 from 4pm to 5pm take part in a junior workshop about housing in the past through hands on activities. Children under six need to be accompanied by an adult.
A knitting circle for adults and children over seven will take place on Friday June 19 from 11am to 1pm.
On Sunday June 21 from 2.30pm to 4pm a Father’s Day concert celebrating the themes, tunes and songs associated with St John’s Eve with musician Emer Mayock and friends will take place.
An illustrated talk exploring the history and features of the Moylough Belt Shrine will take place on June 25 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Temporary exhibitions
Opening mid June: Straw, Hay and Rushes. This temporary exhibition will include more than 100 objects made from these natural materials some of which you will be able to experience for yourself.
Common Threads: An exhibition of fabric craft made by eight women of different nationalities now living in Mayo.
