This week designwest, an innovative graphic and web design company, celebrates its first year of business in the west of Ireland with the launch of a brand new and revamped website. The company, based in Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, has added a whole raft of new clients from all corners of the west and beyond to its already bristling portfolio which include advertising and web design work for Ireland West Airport Knock as well as work for its ongoing clients such as Midwest Radio, Diageo and Concorde Travel and also a number of small to medium size companies. designwest has now positioned itself as one of the leading graphic design agencies in the west of Ireland. Only seven months after its relocation from Dublin to Mayo, designwest was nominated for the Best New Business in the Mayo 2008 Business Awards.
Commenting on the company’s milestone, Declan Foley, director, designwest said: “When we moved the business down last year from Dublin, we were of course a little nervous, especially with the whispers that were just starting about the economy at the time, but it has been an absolutely incredible year for us and it has far exceeded any hopes or expectations I had for designwest in its first year back in the west. At designwest we are passionate about design; for print, for the web, and of course for fully integrated marketing or advertising campaigns. We love a challenge and we always rise to them. That's why clients come to us again and again.”
Reflecting on the company’s inaugural year, Declan points to a particular project which was a highlight for him, namely the recently opened Gateway Leisure in Belmullet: “This was a fantastic brief for us because there was such a huge mix of briefs that required our creative solutions - from creating the initial identity for the Gateway Leisureplex right through to the signage and website design as well as all of the internal and promotional material and the press advertising - so this really was a brief that was an incredibly enjoyable process for us and demanded input from all of our creative team - from the web designers and graphic designers right through to the illustrators.”
