Funding of €381,616 is being provided to support a range of community projects in Mayo which should benefit people of all ages.

His party constituency colleague, Alan Dillon TD added: "My colleague Minister Heather Humphreys announced €381,616 in funding to support 8 community projects in Mayo.
"I am delighted to see many Sports Clubs, Schools and Community Groups are receiving grants of up to €50,000 to develop a wide and diverse range of community facilities in rural areas with successful projects including Outdoor Cinemas, Astro-Turfs, Sensory Gardens, Hurling Walls, Basketball Courts, Walkways, Public Toilets, Community Gyms, Renovations to old Handball Alleys and much more."
Projects in Mayo which will benefit include: (1 ) Balla GAA, €50,000 for the construction a new car park and associated works adjacent to the GAA pitches and other local public amenities; (2 ) Connacht GAA, €40,000 for the extension of a walkway at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence; (3 ) Knockmore GAA Club, €50,000 for the provision of a suitable, lined, level surface with associated drainage and kerbing to car park; (4 ) Ballyvary Central NS, €50,000 for a new community car park adjacent to the community sports facilities, loop walks and school/community hall; (5 ) Down Syndrome Ireland West Regional Centre, €50,000 for a fully accessible playground; (6 ) Belmullet Swimming Pool, €45,000 for resurfacing the structure walls and base to fix the leaks caused by tidal abrasion; Ballintubber GAA, €50,000 for a new carpark and associated works adjacent to Community Resource Centre and other local public amenities and (7 ) Mulranny Tiernaur Amenity Centre, €46,616 for the upgrade of both Handball Alley and car park and new heating system in the Amenity Centre.
Deputy Dillon added: "Recent census results demonstrate that there are now more people living and working in rural Ireland than ever before, which is extremely positive.
"I understand how important it is to prioritise sustainable rural development to allow people live, work and grow old in their own communities.
"Last year, Government launched our most ambitious rural development policy in decades, and ‘Our Rural Future’ is already having a big impact in communities up and down the country including in Mayo."
Announcing €7.4 million for 175 community projects nationwide, Minister Humphreys said: "I want to congratulate all of the successful applicants and I wish them the best of luck in carrying out these works which will make our rural communities even more attractive places to live, work and raise a family.
"In view of the hugely positive response from communities, I am exploring the possibility of providing further funding for a second tranche of projects under CLAR and I hope to make an announcement on this in the near future."
