Easytrip, Ireland’s only electronic parking and tolling tag provider, is celebrating its five-year partnership with Blood Bikes, a not-for-profit charity.
Easytrip has been supporting the charity since April 2017, enabling Blood Bikes to continue to provide a vital service across Ireland. As part of the celebrations, Easytrip has announced the extension of its support for a further five years.
In a typical year, the charity would make over 100,000 deliveries and in the last two years, that support doubled to an estimated 250,000 dispatches.
Blood Bikes provides urgent transportation of essential medical items such as donated blood, human tissue, breast milk to hospitals and medical centres 365 days a year. It supplies its services free of charge with help from a legion of voluntary drivers.
Over the last two years, the organisation has supported the National Ambulance Service and the HSE with Covid-19 testing and medical equipment deliveries.
Colin Delaney, CEO of Easytrip Ireland, said: “We all recognise how important it is to be supporting our healthcare sector, especially over the last two years.
“Blood Bikes is playing a monumental role, ensuring other emergency services are not taken out of service and we are proud to be continuing our support.
“To date we have covered over 12,000 toll journeys for them and look forward to continuing to work with Blood Bikes in the years to come.”
