Connected Health announces 100 new jobs for Mayo

Homecare provider Connected Health has announced the creation of 100 new social care jobs in County Mayo.

The growing domiciliary care company made the announcement at the official opening of its new office in Castlebar.

The new full and part-time care assistant roles will be based throughout Mayo as part of an overall drive by Connected Health to recruit 1,000 carers across the island of Ireland this year.

The new office in the town is the sixth to be opened by the company since it began operations in the Republic of Ireland in 2019.

Fine Gael TD, Alan Dillon, who officially cut the ribbon at the new Connected Health office at Garvey House, Castle Street, Castlebar, said: "The opening of Connected Health’s office in Castlebar is a real positive. It not only brings 100 new jobs and employment to the local area but will also provide a local solution for older people and their families who need home care to remain active and engaged in their communities across Mayo.

"Connected Health has a strong reputation in providing a dynamic approach to the provision of homecare services – promoting health and wellbeing services to older and vulnerable people in their homes.

“I want to congratulate Connected Health on expansion into the west and look forward to hearing great things on their homecare service delivery in the years ahead."

Paula Cahoon, Connected Health’s Operations Director for Ireland, said the 100 new posts, which are to be filled within 2022, offer highly competitive rates of pay and attractive career development opportunities.

She said: "We are delighted to announce the creation of 100 new roles in Co Mayo and the opening of our sixth community-based office in the Republic of Ireland.

"Connected Health currently delivers 4.2 million homecare visits per year and our need for care assistants continues to rise, as we continue to deliver our high-quality brand of home care in local communities across the country.

"Connected Health currently offers the most attractive rates of pay available to care workers in Ireland, as well as providing a highly competitive benefits package.

"Our care assistants further benefit from flexibility in their hours of work, as well as opportunities for seasonal changes in working arrangements to promote optimum work-life balance.

"We are committed to delivering exceptional career progression opportunities for our care assistants. Our people avail of ongoing training and support to ensure the highest standards of care, including innovative digitally-enabled and virtual homecare practices as part of our drive to Homecare 2.0."

Connected Health Area Manager for Mayo, Laura McNamara, said: "Connected Health began operating in Co Mayo in January 2022 and this recruitment drive is a result of high demand for our innovative style of homecare provision in the county.

"No experience is required for applicants, as full training will be provided to successful candidates - both face to face in our new Castlebar facility, and online via the Connected Health Academy.

"All new team members will also receive additional training in order to help them achieve a QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland ) professional qualification within their first year of employment with Connected Health."
