Hospitality Inc. is a new Labour Activation Training Programme run by National Learning Network (Castlebar ) and specialises in Vocational Training. It is a partnership with Mayo Sligo Leitrim Educational Training Board (MSLETB ), Westport Chamber of Commerce, Destination Westport and the Irish Hotel’s Federation (Mayo Branch ) and the project is Government approved with support from the dormant accounts fund.
The Project Co-ordinator for Hospitality Inc. is Ruairi Hughes, who comes from a Hotel Management background with a career spanning 22 years in Westport; while the Instructor is Fiona Park who has been delivering training For National Learning Network for the past eight years.
Hospitality Inc. is a six month training Programme to assist people who need help in returning to work. It consists of a mixture of classroom and on-the-job training and specialises in working with people who need additional supports with training, which enables progression to employment, further, and higher education and/or a better quality of life in their own community. There is ongoing recruitment and continuous intake onto the programme, which is currently recruiting for new students for the second half of 2022.
Small groups and personalised learning
Hospitality Inc. is made up of a small group of students from a variety of backgrounds and educational levels, including school leavers and mature students. Hospitality Inc. is specifically designed to provide the starter skills and knowledge to secure employment in the Hospitality sector. Each student receives tailored supports in a safe and supportive environment. There is no cost involved and social welfare payments are not affected.
Hospitality Inc is focused on both returning people to employment and helping participants find employment for the first time. This programme is all about the learner and their journey, and includes their own personalised learning plan, with dedicated instructors to support them all of the way.
