After two years of waiting the highly anticipated Quay Live event takes place this coming Sunday, June 5.
With an impressive line-up of Sharon Shannon, Mundy, Frances Black, Mary Coughlan, The Whistling Donkeys and local group Coda, this family-friendly event is shaping up to be a fantastic day out.
A shuttle bus will be leaving the Newport Road in Westport Town and The Mall in Castlebar from 5pm, and visitors are advised to avail of this service to ease congestion in Newport - more details to be shared on social media channels.
With large numbers expected, the Newport 300 Committee is advising people travelling by car to the picturesque town of Newport to leave plenty of time for parking, there will be limited availability at Newport National School and on both the Westport Road and Glenhest Road.
Proceedings start at 6pm, the event is ticketed so those attending need to have their QR coded tickets printed out or on phones for scanning, children under 12 years do not need a ticket.
Food vendors will be in place and patrons are asked to ensure they bring cash on the day as some vendors will not have card facilities. Please note glass or glassware will not be permitted in the concert area.
All visitors are asked to respect the area, plenty of bins will be provided and it is hoped patrons will avail of these. The committee is still looking for stewards/marshals to help with traffic flow management so if you would be available, please contact Cormac on 086 844 6007. The Quay Live is a free concert, if anyone wishes to donate to help cover costs there will also be a bucket collection throughout the evening. The committee looks forward to welcoming all visitors to their beautiful town!
