The Covey Club children’s activity camp at Westport Leisure Park is a week of fun and enjoyment for five to 12-year-olds and has firmly established itself as one of the country’s leading summer camps.
Visitors to Westport along with locals look forward each year to the launch of Covey Club. The camp runs each day from 9.30am to 3.30pm during the months of July and August.
Each day the Covey Club campers have action filled hours of activities — sports, games, water-based fun, dance, arts and crafts, etc. It is a great opportunity to make new friends and have tons of fun with the very experienced Covey Club leaders.
Campers can enjoy the added benefit of a day trip to Westport House with its pirate adventure activities, and a movie next door at Westport Cineplex. The camp is split into two groups: Junior Coveys for five to eight-year-olds, and senior Coveys for nine to 12-year-olds, with a suitable programme tailored for each group. While the camps run five days each week, day campers are also welcome.
Children should bring with them each day: Packed lunch for two breaks ( no glass bottles ); wear a tracksuit, tee-shirt, shorts, and runners with a towel and a spare tee-shirt; swimwear and sunscreen.
It costs €85 per child per week, and €75 per week for the second/third child from one family. Day rate: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday €20 (second/third child from one family €18 ); Thursday and Friday €25 (second and third child from one family €22 ).
The Covey Camp will take place from Monday June 29 to Friday July 3; Monday July 6 to Friday July 10; Monday July 13 to Friday July 17; Monday July 20 to Friday July 24; and Monday July 27 to Friday July 31. No camp will take place from August 3 to 7; August 10 to 14; or from August 17 to August 21.
The Covey Camp leaders are very experienced in the provision of fun and sports activities for children. As team members of Westport Leisure Park they are committed to safeguarding and respecting children’s rights, safety, and welfare in accordance with the Irish Sports Council’s Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport.
