Mayo Public Participation Network (PPN ) Community Information Evening will take place online on Wednesday, May 11 at 7pm.
Mayo PPN work in partnership with Mayo County Council and is the main link through which the local authority connects with the community. To date over 1000 community groups have registered with Mayo PPN.
The PPN is currently developing an interactive map listing all community groups in Mayo registered with the PPN. The map will showcase community groups services and amenities and list assets groups have available to share with other groups in their local area. The interactive map will be launched at the event and available to view on the PPN website.
Laura Dixon, Climate Action Officer, Mayo Co Council, will give an update on what is happening in relation to Climate Action and biodiversity in Mayo and said it will be an informative event for community groups with lots of useful information on how to retrofit community buildings, food waste initiatives, community tree planting and rainwater harvesting.
To round off the evening there will be a Wellbeing presentation by Lisa Marren, social prescribing link worker at The Family Centre, with tips and advice on how we can protect ourselves in order to look after the wider community.
