Tommy English, Chairperson of the Fleadh Cheoil said: "After a break of two years, we are delighted to be in a position to host the Fleadh in Achill once again. It has been a difficult number of years, particularly for younger musicians and I want to pay full credit to them all for registering to compete this year.
"We are very much looking forward to welcoming the many hundreds of competitors, their families and supporters to Achill and wish them all the best of luck."
The weekend promises to be a great spectacle of music, song, dance and Gaeilge with music and singing sessions taking place in local pubs as well as the Céilí mór in Óstán Oileán Acla on Saturday night at 8.30pm, entry €12.
