Champion your local cause with EBS

EBS offices across Mayo are calling on you to champion your local cause and to nominate a local initiative that you feel makes a big impact in the community and therefore should be considered for the EBS Community Fund. The fund is designed to help great groups around Ireland to continue the vital work that they do.

Whatever you want to support, whether it’s a summer camp, sports club, community centre, or a care service for the elderly, all you have to do is fill out a nomination form (available online at www.ebs.ie or through all Mayo EBS offices ) and hand it in to your local EBS. A group of representative members and staff will review the forms and decide who the recipients of the fund will be; EBS will be in touch once they have decided.

This is the second round of the EBS Community Fund. Last year, EBS received a huge response from members nominating some fantastic causes in the Mayo area. Community groups that were supported in that round were Castlebar UDP Youth Project and Fairway’s Residents’ Associations. The groups were among 154 organisations across the country that were supported by the fund.

Kieran Rouse, manager of EBS Ballina, said: “EBS Building Society wants to support the communities in which we live and work. With this in mind we developed the EBS Community Fund. The fund had a great response last year and it allowed EBS to provide support to projects that benefit local communities both across Mayo and around the rest of the country. Without nominations, we would not be aware of all the amazing people who, through societies, committees, organisations, clubs, drives or centres, are out there working hard to make these groups a success. I hope that this round of funding will receive the same response and people will get out and cheer for their community by nominating their local cause. We’ll help you make your nomination, just call into your local Mayo office.”

The closing date for entries is June 5.
