There’s another action-packed month ahead at the Linenhall Arts Centre with theatre coming to the fore.
Theatre wise, and offering an alternative look back at one of the most unprecedented times in modern history, is Snapshot at the Linenhall on Friday, April 8. This play, performed by Miriam Needham and Nichola MacEvilly, is inspired by 44 real-life interviews with residents of Sligo and their experiences of the first Covid-19 lockdown.
Despite its intense subject matter, Snapshot is a comedy-drama about two sisters trying to connect in a disconnected world. Through their relationship, loss, loneliness and shared memories are explored, all with deft humour and lightness of touch. Produced by the acclaimed Hawk’s Well Theatre in Sligo, this is a touching portrayal of one of the most fraught moments in recent communal memory.
Tickets for each Linenhall event are available at www.thelinenhall.com or by contacting box office on (094 ) 9023733. Other highlights in April include Clann Machua’s Sive, their take on one of John B Keane’s best known plays, and The Bridge where Latin guitar is showcased with the flair it deserves, by grammy award nominee Eduardo Martín, and Dickinson Cárdenas.
