Hotel67 at The Gleneagle

Something different is happening in Killarney!

Hotel67 - a new, unique boutique style hotel located within the grounds of the iconic Gleneagle Hotel recently opened its doors.

This new concept, a hotel within a hotel, means guests can enjoy the quirkiness and intimacy of Hotel67 while still having access to the great leisure, dining and entertainment amenities of The Gleneagle. It is also the perfect place to stay when taking in a gig at The Gleneagle INEC Arena or INEC Club.

Hotel67 came about when The Gleneagle team looked within their existing walls and chose to get creative with a wing of old guestrooms that had lain idle for over a decade.

These rooms were originally built back in 1967. When the team stripped them back, they unearthed a minimalist beauty – a canvas for creative thinking.

The architectural simplicity – original brickwork, exposed copper, structural features and high ceilings – provided the inspiration to embrace the minimalistic beauty. The sense of history and character was palpable. It was like opening a time capsule of vintage features and hidden craftsmanship. And so, Hotel67 was born.

Today, Hotel67 offers space-savvy guestrooms full of quirky and clever design elements, great artwork and all sorts of mod cons – power showers, high speed WiFi, USB charge points. It even has its own Spotify playlist. There are 24 guestrooms in total, twelve with amazing views of Killarney’s mountains.

The name is an homage to 1967 – one of the greatest years in music history. The year these guestrooms were originally built was the same year that The Doors, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix all released debut albums and the same year that The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Back home in Ireland, Van Morrison exploded onto the airwaves with "Brown Eyed Girl" and The Dubliners "Seven Drunken Nights" had the nation singing-a-long. Music had never sounded so good. And, as music has always been the lifeblood of The Gleneagle, this new departure for this very special space just made sense.
