Crews working to restore water supply in Swinford

Crews are on site in Swinford this morning repairing a burst watermain in the town.

Irish Water and Mayo County Council are working to restore the Swinford Public Water Supply to 1,200 homes and businesses in the East Mayo area as quickly as possible.

Customers can expect water outages throughout the day with an intermittent supply at times. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Speaking about the repair works Ger Greally, Irish Water said: “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers.

“We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to repair the burst and return the water supply to homes and businesses as quickly as possible.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Irish Water receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
