Clann Machua present Sive by John B Keane

Clann Machua Drama Group, Kiltimagh, are delighted to return to the stage with their production of Sive - which is their Festival production for 2022 - and will stage the play on Friday and Saturday February 25 and 26 in the Townhall Theatre with curtain up nightly at 8pm.

The group will also perform in Westport Theatre on Wednesday March 2 before hitting the festival circuit up and down the country, performing in eight festivals in Cork, Kildare, Clare, Galway, Sligo and the local Claremorris Festival in March in a bid to qualify for the All Ireland Finals this year, which will be held in Ballyshannon in April.

Covid cut short this production in 2019 and Director Seamus Corry has made two changes to the original cast, with Rebecca Farrington playing the part of Sive and Gearoid Herraghty playing Liam Scuab. The rest of the cast includes Iggy Bownes, Denis Charlton, Finola Mellett, Lorcan Kitching, Fiona Campbell, Henry Kelly and Ita Malee.

Gearoid is the third generation of his family to tread the boards with Kiltimagh, following in the footsteps of his dad Oisin who is involved in lighting the play, and the late Frank Herraghty, who was such an integral part of Kiltimagh Drama Group for many Years.

Clann Machua are looking forward to bringing their unique take on this John B Keane classic to audiences all around the country in March when they perform in the drama festival Circuit.

They are asking for people to come out and support them on February 25 and 26 and are delighted to especially support the Kieran Cawley Fundraiser by donating the Raffle proceeds on Saturday night to this worthy cause.
