Erris-based Fianna Fáil councillor Sean Carey raised the issue of two bridges that come one after each other in Glencastle needing realignment works - at a recent meeting of the West Mayo Municipal District. Cllr Carey said that he had received a number of representations from constituents on the bridges and that a realignment was needed to bypass them to improve safety on the road. He was informed by council staff that an issue had been raised by the head of roads with the department to try and get the project moving.
