Councillors in the Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District have asked the Road Strategic Policy Committee (SPC ) to revisit changes that are in the draft development plan for the county which will see roads needing to be taken in charge by the council before planning permission can be granted on a road. The issue was highlighted by Fine Gael councillor Neil Cruise, who got backing from his fellow councillors on his concern. The issue of a road also needing to have two houses on it at present before being taken in charge, was also raised, with Cllr John Cribben saying that if the road was up to standard, it should not matter if there was one house on it or 20.
