Cllr Patsy O'Brien has called on Irish Water to extend the current Shrule sewerage scheme. Speaking at the February meeting of the Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District where he had a notice of motion down for discussion, he said that an extension of about 400m on the current scheme out the Dalgan Road is needed. Fianna Fáil councillor Damien Ryan supported the call, saying at the meeting there was an issue in the area where the ground is not suitable for septic tanks and there was a large concentration of them in the area.
