Save the date for ‘Meet Mayo North’ Networking Event

After what can only be described as a turbulent two years for the tourism sector, Mayo North Tourism is delighted to announce the return of its annual ‘Meet Mayo North’ networking event which will focus on recovery and sustainability in tourism.

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 29, in the Great National Hotel Ballina and is open to anyone with an interest in tourism. The team at Mayo North Tourism is encouraging all tourism and hospitality businesses locally to save the date. Special guests on the day will include thought leaders in all areas of sustainability.

Meet Mayo North is also an opportunity for businesses across the North Mayo and West Sligo region, particularly those working in the tourism industry or with an interest in tourism development, to meet up in a face-to-face setting to informally network, exchange ideas, learn about what is on offer locally and cross-promote each other's businesses.

Manager of Mayo North Tourism, Anne-Marie Flynn said: "After such a challenging time for the industry, we are really looking forward to bringing the tourism industry together to re-connect and look to the future.

"As we embark on the road to recovery, it has become more important now than ever before that we take a collaborative and sustainable approach to tourism promotion and development in our region. Mayo North Tourism is here to help and support our local tourism businesses on this journey, and we look forward to doing so in the weeks and months ahead."

The theme of this year’s event will obviously focus on recovery, but it will also hone in on important topics such as ‘sustainability’, which is top of mind across the tourism industry globally, she added.

The Mayo North Tourism office, which is run and supported by Moy Valley Resources IRD with the support of Mayo County Council, Ballina Chamber and a growing number of local tourism businesses, will also give an update on its 2022 marketing and promotional plans. Businesses will have an opportunity to become members on the day and become part of the growing collaborative effort to promote the wider North Mayo and West Sligo region.

Attendance at Meet Mayo North on March 29 is free for both members and non-members. For further information on this event, or to RSVP please email [email protected] or call the Mayo North Tourism office at (096 ) 80090.
