Experience the ‘Moonlight Tour’ at The Linenhall this January

The Linenhall is proud and excited to present The Vanbrugh and Michael McHale with their ‘Moonlight Tour’ on Friday, January 21, at an earlier time of 6pm, in accordance with government guidelines.

The Vanbrugh is a string ensemble with over thirty years’ experience featuring Keith Pascoe on violin, Simon Aspell on viola and Christopher Marwood on cello, who will be joined by the internationally celebrated, Belfast-born pianist, Michael McHale.

The 'Moonlight Tour' features Beethoven’s exquisite Moonlight Sonata, as well as new compositions by Linda Buckley and Michael McHale. For over three decades The Vanbrugh (also known as the Vanbrugh Quartet ) has delighted audiences on an international scale with their repertoire of chamber music, a range that encompasses both classic and contemporary pieces. This performance is a must-see for music enthusiasts.

On Monday, January 17, the Linenhall will host its second Creative Coffee morning, with guest speaker Alex MacNaughton. A children’s illustrator and co-owner of minimal waste store, 'The Habit Store' in Castlebar, she is also known as Lexie Mac. With a background in textiles, Alex realised her passion for illustration after graduating and draws inspiration from nature, citing animals as her biggest inspiration.

This series of events, which was introduced in December 2021 is designed to create a social focal point for the artistic community in County Mayo, a relaxed networking environment for creatives of any media, at all career stages. Creative Coffee takes place monthly, with each event being led by a new artist, covering a wide variety of disciplines. These events are free of charge but booking is essential. The inaugural ‘Mayo International Film Festival’ (MIFF ) takes place at the Linenhall next month, from February 25 to 27. A new initiative established by the Linenhall Arts Centre, MIFF, is a submissions-based festival, dedicated to supporting independent filmmakers and smaller production companies by offering a dynamic platform to showcase their work. 73 films will be screened in total, including 13 titles from the Best of Mayo category.
