Note Waves podcast from Mayo County Council Writer In Residence

Mayo County Council Writer in Residence, Elizabeth Reapy, recently invited fellow writers from Mayo and writers with strong links to Mayo to discuss their creative process.

This resulted in a series of five podcasts which are now available to listen to on www.mayo.ie/arts/NoteWaves or you can e-mail [email protected] to get a link.

Each episode explores a topic that is at the heart of the creative process. Writers discuss and explore Ebb, Self-Care, Resistance, Process and Flow. The duration of the podcasts varies in length, running from just over 12 minutes to just under 24 minutes.

Note Waves illustrates the ups and downs of the creative process. The listener gets an opportunity to listen to the perspective of experienced and emerging writers.

The five episodes are made up of words of wisdom and inspiration from writers Aisling Keogh, Alice Kinsella, Anne Walsh Donnelly, Colin Barrett, Edel Burke, Elizabeth Reapy, Frances Macken, Ger Reidy, Geraldine Mitchell, Jean Tuomey, Mari Maxwell, Mike Mc Cormack, Mike Heneghan, S.J. Butler, Sean Lysaght, Sheila Mc Hugh and Terry Mc Donagh.

The podcasts were produced by Donal McConnon of The Curly Organ and each podcast has its own individual artwork, which was created by artist Bryan Gerard Duffy.

Mayo County Council Writer in Residence is a partnership between Mayo County Council’s Arts Service, Mayo County Council’s Library Service and the Heinrich Böll Cottage Achill, with funding from Creative Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland.
