The official sod turning and contract signing at the site of the new Gráinne Uaile Sub Aqua clubhouse at Bearnadearg, Ballina will take place today (Friday May 22 ) at 2pm by Chairperson of the club and Fianna Fáil election candidate for the Ballina electoral area Michael Loftus.
The official sod turning and contract signing marks the first step of the development of the Grainne Uaile Sub Aqua clubhouse to be constructed by Redron Construction.
The new facility, at Bearnadearg, will include a purpose-built clubhouse, search and rescue units, and storage areas for boats and all associated equipment used in search and rescue operations.
The development will also include provision for training new divers, with a meeting/training room included in the plan.
Attending the event will be Minister Dara Calleary, representatives of Mayo County Council and Ballina Town Council and a number of other parties involved in the development.
