Shell to Sea protester Maura Harrington was sent back behind bars for a further 14 days for failing to pay fines relating to her imprisonment in March. At the March court sitting in Belmullet, where Harrington denied claims that she slapped a member of An Garda Síochána during a protest at Pullathomas Pier on June 11 2007, she was sentenced to 28 days in prison.
The retired school teacher served her full sentence but found herself back Mountjoy on Monday for the non-payment of almost €3,000 worth of fines relating to the previous case.
A solidarity blockade took place at Mountjoy prison on Monday night, where members of Dublin Shell to Sea blocked the vehicle bringing Harrington there.
