Mayo pharmacist Noel Stenson was the winner of the Excellence in Community Practice Award at the 2009 Helix Health Irish Pharmacist Awards, held at the Mansion House, Dublin. Nine awards were presented on the night, recognising professionals from Counties Clare, Cork, Dublin and Mayo who have all demonstrated excellence in their field.
Discussing his win, Noel said: “This award is the icing on the cake to what has been a challenging and oddly rewarding year for the Achill Pharmacy team. The installation of Ireland’s first automated dispensing robot in our pharmacy some 10 months ago has proved not only a great asset for our practice, but also for our ability to expand patient care for the people of Achill. The team and I are delighted this has contributed to our success here tonight.”
