New coffee table book showcases the rich history and beauty of Cong

Lovers of rich, detailed landscape photography won’t want to miss Cong by Elizabeth Toher.

At the first turn of the page, readers are instantly transported into the picturesque and historical village of Cong, in the West of Ireland. Along with photographs, readers are given the stories, histories, and legends that fill Cong.

This visual journey takes the reader through the well-known landmarks of Cong, like Ashford Castle and The Royal Abbey of Cong, as well as some of the hidden treasures such as Lady Buttery’s Cave and the Giant’s Grave. Elizabeth Toher is not only the resident photographer for the prestigious Ashford Castle and Estate, but also a well-known wedding photographer in the West of Ireland. After Covid decimated the wedding and hospitality industries, Elizabeth was inspired to fulfill a life long dream of putting together a book her of beloved Cong. Elizabeth was born and raised in Cong, County Mayo, and still resides there with her husband and their three children.
