A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help secure a future for Kiltimagh Museum.
The museum committee has set up the page and is appealing for donations in order to keep the museum open. Due to Covid restrictions over the past 18 months and the costs of having to maintain the Museum in its present state, there is an urgent need to financially secure its survival for future generations.
The Museum is a vital source of local history and genealogy for locals and visitors. It houses many artefacts and lore of bygone years recalling people and a way of life that has gone forever.
Also celebrated here are the distinguished careers of many former residents whose achievements contributed to pride and confidence in Kiltimagh. The museum also offers a space to hold meetings/gatherings and small exhibitions for the community.
The Museum is run by volunteers and is open to the public by appointment. The Kiltimagh Historical Society acts as curator and custodian of the Kiltimagh Museum, Train Carriages and Artefacts. To ensure this is a space that exists for generations to come, funds are more vital now than ever before. You can make a donation at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-keep-our-museum-open.
