Kelly’s Butchers in Irish Food Awards finals

Two products from Kelly’s Butchers, Newport, have reached the finals of the prestigious Irish Food Awards 2021 (Blás na hÉireann ), to be held in October. Kelly’s Black Pudding and Kelly’s Hazlett were both selected from the large volume of entrants.

"We are very pleased to reach the finals of the Irish Food Awards with both these products," said Seán Kelly of Kelly’s Butchers. "Kelly’s Black Pudding is made to our traditional family recipe, handed down through the generations. Kelly’s Hazlett is our own modern twist on an old favourite. It’s cooked and ready to eat straight from the pack."

The Blás na hÉireann Irish Food Awards are now in their 14th year and recognise and reward the best of Irish food and drink, and the passionate people who make them.

Kelly’s Butchers stated: "This is the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country. Judges come from a range of food backgrounds; chefs, restaurateurs, academics, journalists, authors, food champions, caterers and enthusiastic home cooks. Kelly’s Butchers have been fortunate enough to win several awards over the years and look forward to the final award announcements which will be made in early October."

Kelly’s is an authentic artisan butcher’s shop located in Newport. Their award-winning puddings and sausages are available all over the country and through their website www.kellysbutchers.com
