Ethnic entrepreneurs from Mayo who have set up businesses in Ireland over the past number of years are invited to enter the 2009 Permanent TSB Ethnic Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The awards, now in their third year, recognise and encourage entrepreneurship among members of ethnic minority groups in establishing businesses and social projects in Ireland.
The competition has a strong focus on mentoring and offers finalists the opportunity to take part in an exclusive mentoring programme with Aidan Heavey, founder and chief executive of Tullow Oil PLC, the world’s fastest growing independent oil company with operations in 22 countries across the world. Categories within the competition include: Best Business Idea; Service Ethnic Entrepreneur; Emerging Ethnic Entrepreneur; Technology Ethnic Entrepreneur of the Year and Social Ethnic Entrepreneur.
